TL;DR
OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 10 Pro charging brick in North America will be different from those in other countries. Global models have an 80W charging block, while NA models have last year’s 65W charger. OnePlus says this is because 80W SuperVOOC does not support North American electrical standards.
One of the key features of the OnePlus 9 series was its 65W wired charging speeds. At that speed, you can charge your phone from zero to 100% in less than 40 minutes.
We already know that the OnePlus 10 Pro charging speed will boost the speed to 80W. In addition, OnePlus has confirmed that it will come with an 80W charger in the box with the 10 Pro. However, buyers in North America — including the United States — won’t see that charger.

Instead, OnePlus has confirmed that North American buyers will see the same 65W charger that came with the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. Of course, without an 80W charger, you won’t see 65W charging speeds on the 10 Pro until it lands here.
The company confirmed this in a forum post (h/t XDA-Developers). In that post, OnePlus employee “dsmonteiro” explains this discrepancy: “80W SuperVOOC does not currently support 110- or 120-volt AC power – the typical standard for electrical outlets in [North America]†
In other words, Oppo and OnePlus should update SuperVOOC to meet the needs of North America’s electrical standards, and they didn’t.
You might think that you can just buy an 80W charger from a third-party seller. However, SuperVOOC is its own standard, so other chargers can’t reach those speeds. Unfortunately, the OnePlus 10 Pro charging in North America will remain stuck at 65W speeds until OnePlus updates the standard.
